Minimum Requirements for STACKS on Desktop

To ensure a smooth experience with STACKS on your desktop computer, please ensure your system meets the following minimum requirements.

Operating System

• MacOS: Version 12 (Monterey) or later
  • Note: Many users find that STACKS works as far back as macOS 10.15 (Catalina) but support for these legacy operating systems is unofficial.
• Windows: Version 7 or later

Storage

• Disk Space Required: 50MB of free storage for installation

Additional Recommendations

While the minimum requirements are sufficient for basic functionality, we recommend the following for optimal performance:

• Processor: Dual-core CPU or better
• Memory: At least 4GB of RAM
• Internet Connection: Required for installation, updates, and authentication
