Common Error Codes in STACKS Products and What They Mean

Encountering an error code can be frustrating, but each code provides specific information about the issue and how to resolve it. Here’s a guide to the most common error codes in STACKS products and their meanings.

LinkFile Errors

1. LinkFile_Missing
   • What It Means: The link file, which helps the product locate its sample files, is missing.
   • How to Fix: Uninstall and reinstall the product.
2. LinkFile_FolderMissing
   • What It Means: The folder where the samples are supposed to be located is missing.
   • How to Fix: Uninstall and reinstall the product.
3. LinkFile_SamplesMissing
   • What It Means: The sample files aren’t in the folder.
   • How to Fix: Redownload the samples using the "Download Samples" button in My Stack.

AuthFile Errors

1. AuthFile_Missing
   • What It Means: The authentication file required to verify your license is missing.
   • How to Fix: Uninstall and reinstall the product.
2. AuthFile_Expired
   • What It Means: The authentication file has expired. This can occur if your product hasn’t connected to the internet for more than 30 days.
   • How to Fix: Ensure STACKS is running and your computer is connected to the internet.
3. AuthFile_NotActive
   • What It Means: The license hasn’t been activated on the backend.
