Uninstalling STACKS

If you need to uninstall STACKS from your computer, follow the steps below based on your operating system.

🪟 Uninstalling on Windows

  1. Open Settings (press Windows + I ).
  2. Navigate to Apps > Installed apps or Apps & features.
  3. Scroll to find STACKS.
  4. Click the three-dot menu (•••) next to it and choose Uninstall.
  5. Confirm when prompted.

🍎 Uninstalling on macOS

  1. Open Finder and go to the Applications folder.
  2. Locate STACKS.
  3. Drag the STACKS app to the Trash, or right-click and choose Move to Trash.
  4. Empty the Trash to complete the uninstall.

🧹 Optional: Remove Installed Plugins or Content

If you've installed plugins or sample libraries through STACKS, uninstalling the app won't remove those. You can delete them manually from wherever you chose to install them. If you're unsure, check inside the app before uninstalling.
